Compassionate End-of-Life Care

At Hamilton Crossing Animal Hospital, we understand that saying goodbye to a beloved member of your family is one of the most difficult experiences a pet owner can face. Our team is here to support you with compassion, dignity, and respect, ensuring that your pet’s final moments are peaceful and filled with love.

A Gentle, Respectful Process

We strive to make this transition as smooth and private as possible for both you and your pet. To provide the best experience, we follow a specific process designed to prioritize your family's needs:

  • Scheduled Appointments: We prefer to schedule a specific time for end-of-life care. This allows our team to be fully prepared for your arrival, ensuring you and your pet are not kept waiting in a busy lobby.

  • A Private Space: Upon your arrival, our team will immediately escort you and your pet to a quiet, private room. We want you to feel settled and comfortable away from the pace of the rest of the hospital.

  • Supportive Coordination: Once you are in your private room, a member of our team will gently go over aftercare options (such as cremation services) and handle the financial side of the visit.

  • Focus on the Goodbye: We choose to handle the paperwork and checkout prior to the procedure. We do this so that once the procedure is finished, your focus can remain entirely on your pet.

    • Take Your Time: You are welcome to spend as much time as you need saying your final goodbyes in the privacy of the room. You will never be interrupted to handle a bill or wait at a reception desk afterward.

    • Support When You Are Ready: We understand that every person grieves differently. Some families wish to stay for a long period, while others find it too difficult to stay behind. When you feel ready to leave, you are free to do so at any time.

    • We Are Here For Your Pet: Some owners prefer not to leave their pet's side alone; please know that if you need to step out, you can simply alert our front desk staff. Our compassionate team will immediately step in to look after your "fur baby" and ensure they continue to be treated with the utmost care and tenderness.
